The new regional South India office of Safmarine was inaugurated by Mr Tomas Dyrbye, CEO of Safmarine, on May 4. Mr Dyrbye is based at the Safmarine headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium, according to Exim News Service.
The occasion was also graced by Mr Bimal Kanal, Safmarine's Indian Subcontinent head, along with dignitaries like Mr Rama Varma, Managing Director of Aspinwall and Co. Ltd, and a few colleagues from Maersk Line operations in Chennai.
In his inaugural speech, Mr Dyrbye highlighted the line's focus on emerging markets in India. "We want Safmarine to be big in India and India to be big in Safmarine," he stressed. He also acknowledged that the new office was beautifully branded.
Mr Kanal said the setting up of a new regional office in South India was a significant step for Safmarine in the country.
The opening of this regional office emphasises Safmarine's focus on tapping the potential market in South India for future growth.
Mr Jayaraj Narayanan, Regional South India Manager, and the Safmarine Chennai team are based out of this new office.
