With the gradual recovery of the shipping market and the launch of a super-slow steaming programme by the CKYH Alliance at the end of 2009, the market has shown stability with the recovery of utilisation of individual routes and slots intensity emerging since the beginning of 2010.
In this connection, Cosco Container Lines has announced a series of rate increase/restoration programmes to maintain service quality.
The details of the programmes are as follows:
Transpacific trade ?C Emergency Revenue Charge (EMR) for Asia to US (both East and West Coast) US$320/TEU, $450/FEU effective from January 15. General Rate Increase (GRI)for Asia-Canada $320/TEU and $450/FEU east-bound and $200/TEU and $300/FEU for west-bound, effective from January 15.
Asia-Europe trade ?C General Rate Increase (GRI) for Asia to Northwest Europe and Mediterrraneane $300/TEU effective from January 15. Emergency Peak Season Surcharge (EPS) for Asia to Northwest Europe and Mediterranean $300/TEU effective from January 15.
Australia trade ?C General Rate Increase (GRI) for Asia to Australia $250/TEU effective from January 15.
Southeast Asia trade ?C Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for reefer cargo from China ports to Southeast Asia $300/TEU, effective from December 1, 2009.
Sino-Japan trade ?C Reefer Consumption Surcharge (RCS) for reefer cargo from China ports to Japan 600 yuan/TEU, effective from December 1, 2009.
