The CKYH alliance of shipping lines will begin slow steaming on one of their Asia-US east coast services.

From 20 January, the alliance - compromising Coscon, K Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin ?C will slow steam its AWH service, and Hanjin will add a 4,000teu vessel to maintain schedule reliability.

Hanjin said: "Like many other major shipping carriers, Hanjin Shipping is pleased to participate in slow-steaming to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emission in accordance with the global understanding and movement aimed to save the environment."
