The volume of import cargo at major retail container ports is expected to surge 13 percent in March from the same month last year, the National Post reported.
Double-digit increases are expected to continue through the summer months, according to the Global Port Tracker report from the US National Retail Federation and Hackett Associates.
"These numbers show retailers continue to anticipate improvements in the US.economy," said Jonathan Gold, the federation's vice-president of supply chain and customs policy.
