Finance Ministry objects to SEZ status for Vallarpadam

The proposed Vallarpadam Special Economic Zone in Kochi is in troubled waters as the Finance Ministry has objected to granting it the coveted SEZ status, reported the Hindu.
The Finance Ministry says the project has failed to meet certain stipulated conditions of a port-based SEZ under the SEZ Act and Rules.
