China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) will introduce a new surcharge on transpacific trades next month, because of the acute shortage of containers.

      Deputy General Manger Zhao Hongzhou told a shareholders'meeting yesterday that an emergency equipment surcharge of some $400/feu will be levied from 1 July.
