Horizon Lines swung to a second-quarter profit from a prior-year period marred by a US$20 million legal charge as the revenue and margin increased, reported Dow Jones Newswires.
The shipper had suffered earlier this year as volume and prices remained weak, even as some peers were reporting improvement due to the economic recovery.
Horizon Lines posted a profit of US$3.7 million compared with a prior-year loss of $31.1 million.
