After three consecutive quarters of net losses, regional container shipping line, Samudera Shipping Line has achieved a turnaround performance to post a net profit of US$600,000 for the three months ended 30 June compared with $97,000 a year earlier.
Revenue for the group grew 9.9 percent to $90 million from $81.9 million for the second quarter of 2009. This was largely due to better vessel utilisation for the container shipping business and a 10.9 percent year-on-year increase in container volume handled. |
