Customs agents at the Los Angeles-Long Beach port complex have seized more than 70,000 of pairs of fake designer sunglasses estimated to be worth more than US$12 million.

The 78,600 pairs of sunglasses arrived in three shipments from China and were confusingly similar to designer brands such as Coach, Gucci and Armani, said the US Customs and Border Protection.
