The volume of container cargo handled at South Korea's seaports rose to a record high for September, thanks to a rise in export and import traffic, according to Yonhap New Agency.

The volume of containers handled reached 1.54 million TEUs last month, up 8.3 percent from a year earlier, according to the report by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.
