Liner carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. said this week it will assess a peak season surcharge on shipments from Asia to Canada, beginning Jan. 1.
The surcharge is $320 per container, $400 per reefer container, and $450 for special equipment.
CMA CGM earlier this month announced peak season surcharges of $400 to $510 it will access on eastbound transpacific cargo from Jan. 1.
MSC didn't immediately respond for a request for comment from American Shipper on the surcharge.
