Maersk Line said this week it is raising rates on shipments from the Far East to the Caribbean.
The increases, $100 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot or 45-foot container, are effective Jan. 15. The increase applies to cargo moving from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam to Colombia (excluding Buenaventura), the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Panama and Puerto Rico.
