Piracy petition handed to IMO

Global maritime organisations presented an End Piracy petition to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in London yesterday, part of a international campaign designed to coincide with World Maritime Day.

The 930,000-signature petition, handed to Efthimios Mitropoulus, Secretary General of the IMO, called for action to secure the release of kidnapped seafarers and the resources to secure an end to piracy.
