New legislation was introduced to the US House of Representatives yesterday which, if made law, would eliminate anti-trust immunity for ocean carriers.

Congressmen James Oberstar and Elijah Cummings introduced the Shipping Act of 2010 to stop shipping lines engaging in joint negotiations on freight rates or surcharges through conferences.
